House Manager

Overview
An experienced, trustworthy and committed House Manager with a passion for childcare is sought for a semi-formal home in the North Forest Hill area of Toronto. This is a full-time, permanent, LIVE-IN position, The House Manager is required to travel to the family's summer home in Lakefield, ON each summer. Accommodations provided. 

Primary Responsibilities of the Employee
-Day to day management of the property to maintain high levels of cleanliness, efficiency and overall organization
-Plan, prepare and cook family meals and children's school lunches
-Laundry including collecting, washing, drying, folding, ironing, steaming, stain removal, dry-cleaning co-ordination/scheduling and rotation
-Assist housekeeper by performing light houskeeping tasks
-Create meal plans, grocery lists and household inventory lists
-Supervise children and help direct them through their daily responsibilities (homework, chores, emptying backpacks)
-Take children on outings
-Run errands and provide chauffeur services
-Assist with the care of 2 cats (possible small dog in future)

-Travel with the family on vacation (if required)
-Manage/supervise trades, installations, and vendors
-Identify, schedule and manage maintenance needs, repair projects and installations
-Insure that vehicles are clean and have fuel
-Maintain household inventories

-Manage trash and recycling 
-Answer the phone/door and greet guests

-Perform other requests as needed

Job Requirements/Applicant Qualities
-Full G license and clean driving record
-Fluent in English, both verbal and written
-Must have a true passion for childcare
-Must enjoy cooking and be able to follow recipes
-Must know how to swim
-Must have a proven track record of taking initiative 
-Trustworthy and reliable
-Willing to maintain high levels of privacy
-Must be comfortable around cats & dogs
-Eager to provide high-quality service
-Energetic with a strong work ethic
-Non-smoker preferred
-Experience with ADHD or other learning disorders an asset


Salary
Salary is commensurate with experience and candidate qualities/capabilities

Additional Information
Schedule: Monday to Friday while in Toronto
Varying schedule during summer-2 days per week off

7- 8 hours per day, flexibility required
Weekend support needed occasionally, with advance notice

2+ weeks of paid vacation
Car for use while working and occasional personal errands
Accommodations are always provided
