House Manager

Westmount, QC. Canada

An experienced, trustworthy and committed House Manager sought for a semi-formal home in the Westmount area of Montreal. This is a full-time, permanent, live-out position. The House Manager will be responsible for the running of the home in its entirety and the management of 3 other employees.

Primary Responsibilities of the Employee
-Day to day management of the property to maintain high levels of cleanliness, efficiency and overall organization.
-Manage other staff within the household. (nanny, housekeeper, handyman)
-Manage and supervise trades, installations, and vendors.
-Identify, schedule and manage maintenance needs, repair projects and installations.
-Create meal plans, grocery lists and assist with meal preparation.
-Assist in the recruitment, training, and guidance of future staff members.
-Complete end of day walk-through and report.
-Maintain household inventories.
-Greet guests, answer phone calls, respond to household e-mails, receive packages etc.
-Creation and maintenance of a detailed House Manual.
-Ensure that cars are maintained, clean and have fuel.
- Schedule and assist trades with seasonal deep clean and maintenance.
-Assist with closet rotations (winter to spring, summer to autumn etc.).
-Accept other requests as needed.

Job Requirements/Applicant Qualities
-5+ years of working in a private residence.
- Full G license and clean driving record.
-Proficient with computers including the use of MS Office and Quickbooks
-Fluent in English, both verbal and written. French an asset.
-Trustworthy and reliable.
-Tech Savvy
-Capable and willing to maintain high levels of privacy.
-Able to manage other household staff members.
-A clear understanding of the importance of privacy and personal boundaries.
-Interest and knowledge of wine, spirits, fine food and drink a plus.
-Must be comfortable around a large dog.
-Eager to provide high-quality service.
-Energetic with a strong work ethic.
-Able to communicate directly and honestly with the principal.

Salary is commensurate with experience and candidate qualities/capabilities. Approx: $65,000/annum.

Additional Information
Monday to Friday, flexibility required.
2 weeks of paid vacation.
Car for use while working.
