An experienced, skilled, and trustworthy, Property Manager is required for a large residence 40 minutes north of Toronto. This is a full-time, permanent, live-in position. Potential expansion of duties to suit a Domestic Couple.
Primary Responsibilities of the Employee
-Full responsibility for keeping the property in pristine condition
-Day to day maintenance of the residences and property, both interior & exterior
-Property seasonal preparation
-Property preparation for owner’s arrival. Pre-arrival checks of all equipment and amenities
-Creation and upkeep of standard pre-arrival, season preparation and regular work check lists and schedules
-Regular checks of all electronic and household equipment
-Vetting, scheduling and supervision of trades, vendors and seasonal maintenance contracts.
-Overseeing seasonal day workers (if required) and contractors
-Gardening, lawn care, landscaping, tree care, snow and ice removal
-Maintaining and budgeting total property expenses including third-party expenses, taxes, utilities etc
-General light repairs and handyman work.
-Care of property amenities, pond, pool, saunas, tennis court and garage for maintenance and cleanliness.
-Running of errands and grocery shopping.
-Managing pantry and household inventories.
-Vehicle management (cars, utility vehicles).
-Boat storage and up-keep
-General property preparation before the owner’s use (supplies, boats, vehicles and residences)
-24 hours emergency response and maintaining security of the property
-Overall responsibility of security. As the first key holder for the alarm company the Estate Manager will be expected to be in residence when the family are absent or alternatively make arrangements for one of the other staff to be available.
-Anticipate and address all possible maintenance issues to make sure the properties are always kept at immaculate condition
-Regular work progress reporting, expense reporting and general close communication with principals including possible travel to meet the principles for specific discussions or reporting.
-Logging and reporting of all property visits by the principals, family and friends
-Overtime and weekend work during the high season periods
-Maintenance and upkeep of Estate Manager’s residence, gatehouse and surrounding territory
-2+ years’ experience in a private residence or similar role
-Full license and clean driving record
-Skills required to operating a small tractor and other machinery related to gardening and landscaping
-Landscaping experience is very desirable
-Security license, or experience, an asset
-Fluency in English, both verbal and written
-Trustworthy and reliable
-Comfortable working in various weather conditions
-An eye for fine details
-Strong time management and organizational skills
-Ability to work with minimal supervision
-Eager to provide high-quality service

-Basic computer knowledge (excel, email, word) for budgeting, communication and records keeping
-Must exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality at all times.
Salary is commensurate with experience and candidate qualities/capabilities
